This summer, let us guide you through Auvillar! The 'Amis du Vieil Auvillar' association invites you to explore the rich heritage of the historic town center along its charming cobblestone streets. A timeless stroll, perfectly suited for both children and their parents. Accompanied by passionate local guides, you will discover the key landmarks and remarkable monuments that make Auvillar so famous: Meet in front of the Sainte-Catherine chapel at the port of Auvillar. What did the harbor district look like when the Garonne River was still navigable? Who would you meet along the riverbanks? What was life like living by the river? In the company of a local riverbank resident, take a tour of the harbor—or 'faire le tour du port' as we say here—and discover the fascinating history of this neighborhood and the sailors' chapel, home to so many stories, both big and small. An indoor visit to the chapel is included in the tour. The Deux Rives Tourist Office, located in the former Ursuline convent. The town's heritage and history will hold no more secrets for you! To top off this Sunday experience, the tour ends warmly in the heart of the local farmers' market. New this year: Don't miss our two themed tours dedicated to the Camino de Santiago (Saint-Jacques de Compostelle) as well as our treasure hunt (dates and additional information available in our full program).
