Documentary Month 2026
"Did Lou manage to skateboard? — Yeaaaah!" the three-year-olds answer in unison, gathered around Fabien, their teacher. "So, is skateboarding for girls? Noooo, it’s only for boys," the students reply in turn—girls and boys alike. Following teachers who are wholeheartedly committed to fostering gender equality among their students, the film offers a sensitive exploration of a struggle whose intensity we often fail to grasp. Through the eyes of the students, we discover the daily forces that reinforce gender stereotypes—and, crucially, what can be done to free our children from them. Their greatest weapon is sport: the relationship with one’s own body and its amazing capabilities. While physical differences between men and women remain the primary argument for segregating and ranking the sexes, the film reveals the unexpected power of physical activity to help children—both girls and boys—build self-confidence and recognize the equality of others.
