Exactly forty years after their first album Tutti Frutti, the band led by Didier releases the fifteenth chapter of its story. Its title? Où va nous ? Recorded last June in the Landes region at Le Manoir de Léon (whose final adventure this will be), the album features the band’s current line-up of the past decade: Jean-Michel Lejoux on bass, Nicolas Schauer on drums, Tony Truant and Effello on guitars, with Didier as conductor and master of ceremonies. The result is forty minutes of pure rock and roll. This has now become their cruising rhythm: one release every three years. A mix of electric fury and unrestrained energy, the album still bears Didier’s unmistakable style — his rough-edged voice pushed to the front because it leads the operation with authority. It is the band’s signature sound. Behind him are musicians who have found the perfect balance between experience and freshness. One of the band’s goals was to make the guitars truly heard, and to achieve this they followed Elvis’s method by recording the tracks live. In a studio, musicians traditionally wait their turn to record, usually starting with the rhythm section — bass and drums — followed by guitars and finally the singer. But Les Wampas do none of that: as soon as the switch is turned on, the five-headed creature awakens and unleashes its full firepower. The lyrics evoke the past without being particularly nostalgic, reminding listeners that the band belongs to a larger musical history — one that began with twist music and continued through the 1977 wave and alternative rock. This is precisely what makes the band unique: bringing together several generations of lovers of driving rock rhythms, with everyone hearing the influences they cherish most. The time has come to do it all again — Les Wampas are back!!! ROSACANINE OPENING ACT: Between Anglo-Saxon influences and French lyrics The band emerged in March 2023 and has been performing continuously ever since, from clubs to festivals and opening slots. Their soundtrack is direct rock music, with lyrics proudly written in French, soothing the soul while striking the heart. The members of this generous gang approach the stage as a necessity, and their connection with the audience as a driving force. In 2026, supported by the SMAC venue La Gespe in Tarbes, the band strengthens its artistic direction and announces the release of a new EP. Sharing a sense of communion is essential. Rock music has that power, and RosaCanine embodies it perfectly!
