Description
Throughout his eventful life—which led him to stay in the vicinity of Montauban in 1813—François de Paule de Fossa (1775–1849) never abandoned his passion for music.
A composer and guitarist long forgotten, he is now performed all over the world. Yet during his lifetime, music remained a secondary pursuit for this aristocrat, who primarily alternated between a military career and posts as a ministerial secretary.
Novelist and essayist Nicole Yrle will recount the eventful life of this Catalan figure—a life well-documented through the correspondence he sent to his sister.
It was a life of wandering and adventure spanning France, Spain, and Mexico, shaped by the political events of the era and marked by his relationship with his patron, Miguel de Azanza.
Following this, the Hiroba duo—comprising young concert artists Riko Morita and Timothée Vinour-Motta—will perform a guitar program blending early and contemporary repertoires, featuring works by Fernando Sor, Shingo Fujii, Toru Takemitsu, Astor Piazzolla, and François de Fossa.
In partnership with the "Les Amis de François de Fossa" association.
